I decided to take my photos in an outdoor setting. The photo I choose to talk about is the red flower. This photo was taken outside, and I positioned the camera above the flower to get a more interesting angle.I was very close to the flower when taking this. My photos was horizontal, and I did consider the rule of thirds. I decided to not take the picture straight on in the center, instead I positioned my focus toward the side using the rule of thirds. When looking at this photo your eye flows very easily throughout the work.
Pattern and Texture
Dodge and Burn
The photo I chose to describe, was taken from above looking down on my focal point. My photo is vertical. This image does not include the rule of thirds however. This was taken looking down straight so the rule of thirds did not apply. My photo displays rhythm by making your eyes move down to the focal point which is the bottom center. In this your eye follows the path to the bottom which is why rhythm is well displayed in this photo. The image that may be overexposed would be the Lilly Pulitzer photo. I think the label may be too bright, making it overexposed. The photo that I think may be underexposed would be the spiral stair photo. I feel that as your eye gets closer to the bottom it becomes more black and you can't see the details as much. The image that is properly exposed is the one displaying the most rhythm, moving your eye towards the left. The values go from lighter to darker, properly exposing the image.
I feel like the photo that demonstrates the rule of thirds the best is the photograph with the trolly lines. This is because the trolley lines help show division into sections of 3. The photo that demonstrates consideration for point of view would be the trolly lines because I took it from from the side view, at a angle instead of straight up or down. The image I feel that shows the best positive and negative shapes would be the image with the tree and the power lines going through it. It is appealing to your eye because you can see positive space between the tree branches and the the sky. The photo that has the strongest composition would be the trolly lines. Again, it is very ascetically pleasing taking the viewers eye throughout the image, creating a more interesting composition. The photo that best satisfies the assignment would be the trolly lines. It showcases the best composition, as long as with a interning view point. It satisfy the concept of "power lines" as well. The photo with the best exposure would be in the upper middle, it showcases the positive and negative space, as well as a greyscale.
